Supplying specialist facing materials – featuring quality brick craftsmanship

All Brick and Stone were approached directly by the client for a project that required a diverse selection of brick materials with a focus on architectural aesthetics. The design concept reflects the owner’s extensive bricklaying experience showcasing intricate façade details. Our role involved assisting in the selection of a primary brick and a feature brick to meet specific project requirements.

We began by presenting a range of brick samples for consideration. After narrowing down the preferences, a conscious and careful decision of which brick to use was chosen. The project design featured a number of bespoke brick specials which required a careful selection of a UK manufacturer capable of producing customised moulds in order to supply specialist brick specials. Once identified, these bespoke options were presented to the client and received their approval.

The project prominently features two chimneys, aptly named the ”rope twist chimney,” showcasing specially crafted bricks to achieve its distinctive circumference and spiraling rope-like effect. The overall property exhibits a variety of brick patterns, including Flemish bond and herringbone designs.

As well as sourcing the right brick and supplying bespoke brick specials for the chimney stacks, we supplied pre-fabricated brick arches and roof tiles to blend in with the overall design.

The property was nominated for two BDA Awards 2024 under the categories individual housing and craftsmanship. The client, a quality brickwork contractor, has elevated the profile of quality brick craftsmanship showcasing a wide range of skills and bespoke brick features.
